Police: Mom pursues ex, spins car with baby inwards in Whites Creek

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman is facing charges after she flipped a car with a 9-month baby inwards it after police say she was pursuing a man.

According to police, it all commenced at a residence in the west Madison area of Nashville when the child’s mother, Tiffany Carter, went to confront her ex-boyfriend, the baby’s father.

Police said a pursue ensued after the man and his fresh gf fled the home.

During the pursue, which a Metro helicopter spotted from the air on an unrelated case, Carter, 29, reportedly fired shots at the man’s car.

Police told News two the 31-year-old man pulled over at Brick Church Pike and Bellshire Drive and flagged down officers, alerting them of the situation.

The mother crashed her car, which landed on its roof at Brick Church Pike and Bell Grimes Lane a brief time later. Police said Carter may have been traveling as quick as seventy mph in a thirty mph zone.

When they arrived to the crash scene, police said Carter was holding her son outside of a window.

Both were transported to a nearby hospital.

The baby was not injured and has since been released.

Police said the infant’s car seat was not installed in Carter’s vehicle decently at the time of the crash.

Police recovered a gun on Brick Church Pike where it is believed Carter threw it.

Carter, 29, is charged with two counts of aggravated brunt, reckless endangerment, child endangerment, evading arrest, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.

She is being held in lieu of $107,500 bond.

She has previous convictions for theft and drug possession, police said.
