The MG Car Club of Western Australia Inc. was founded in one thousand nine hundred sixty three as a not-for-profit organisation administered by a committee of volunteer enthusiasts. The Club is affiliated with the MG Car Club of UK, which was founded in one thousand nine hundred thirty and is based in Abingdon. There are MG Car Club Centres in every Australian State and the ACT, and each year a National Meeting is hosted by one of these MGCC Centres over Easter.
The aim of the MG Car Club of WA is to maintain the MG marque and create a forum for owners of all types of MG’s to discuss technical and common interest matters relating to the vehicles, as well as to participate in social outings and competition events. The Club has about two hundred members.
Each year the committee and other members organise a series of social and competition runs, barbecues, nog’n’natters, dinners, novelty events, driving abilities, speed & spectacle events, vehicle condition inspections, Show’n’Shine/Concours d’Elegance, navigation trials and the premier event on the MG calendar “The Safety Prompt Run”.
