Crash data for self-driving cars may not tell entire story

Self-driving cars being tested in real-world traffic have a higher crash rate than conventional vehicles, according to a fresh explore by the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute.

However, the probe also concluded that data are still limited, so it cannot rule out the possibility that actual accident rates for self-driving cars could ultimately be determined to be lower than those for traditional vehicles. Continue reading →
