Range Rover Velar is here. After the car was taunted last week and leaked photographs surfaced online, Land Rover has exposed official details and pictures of their latest product range.
Sitting in the gap inbetween the Range Rover Evoque and Sport, the Velar offers a pleasing blend inbetween the two SUVs and launches itself into the very competitive mid-sized SUV segment.
Velar’s form is reminiscent of the Sport but the styling is more comparable to the sportier Evoque.

Styling on the Velar is underpinned by its claw form side air vent, pronounced black grille and contrasting upper and lower bod colour scheme.
The metal piles blend seamlessly into the panoramic roof and black lines run along the length of the bod emphasising the contrast.
Door treats are now flush and set into the assets which feeds in to the Land Rover’s brief for the Velar which was for the SUV to be “defined by a visually reductive treatment and meticulous attention to precision in every detail.”

Range Rover’s latest SUV sits on 22-inch alloy wheels and full-LED headlights are fitted as standard. Velar also has a class-leading ground clearance of up to 151mm and wading depth of 650mm.

Its Terrain Response system takes car of the cars off-road the driver to adjust vehicle settings to suit the road surface. The terrain modes available on the system are Eco, Convenience, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Ruts, Sand, and – on R-Dynamic models – Dynamic mode.
They alter the calibration of the engine, transmission, all-wheel drive system, suspension, and stability control systems for optimum traction and composure.
The interior extension of the minimal exterior.When the screens are off they blend seamlessly into the cars panels and there are only four visible dials and buttons on the dashboard (excluding driver controls.)
The central console houses two screens, the upper being a 10-inch touchscreen Touch Pro Duo infotainment system.

A range of driver assistance systems come as standard including: Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist and an Adaptive Speed Limiter, Lane Departure Warning (LDW) Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) and a 360° Parking Aid cameras across bod.
The Range Rover Velar was designed and engineered at Jaguar Land Rover`s development centres in the UK.
It will be on sale from the summer and priced from £44,830.
