Fresh £45,000 Range Rover Velar launched at star-studded bash after largest pre-sales in rock hard’s history
Fresh model will pack the gap inbetween the £30,000 Evoque and the £60,000 Range Rover Sport
THE fresh £45,000 Range Rover Velar has been launched at a star-studded bash after attracting more pre-sales than any other model in the hard’s history.
The Velar takes it name from the original one thousand nine hundred sixty nine Range Rover prototype suggesting “luxury, refinement and all-terrain capability”.
The fresh mid-size Chelsea wagon was unveiled at a star-studded event held at London’s Design Museum attended by celebrities including David Gandy, Rob Brydon, Damian Lewis and Poppy Delevingne.
Prices for the Velar, which goes on sale in July, will embark at £44,830 and rise to around £85,000 for the top-of-the-range, 155mph Very first Edition.
The fresh model will pack the gap inbetween the £30,000 Evoque and the £60,000 Range Rover Sport.

It has a clean, minimalist design with flush door treats super-slim LEDs, lots of glass, HD screens, wi-fi and tailored luxury.
Design boss Gerry McGovern said: “Just because it is charming it doesn’t mean it’s not rough.
“It still has all the capability you expect.
“People don’t need luxury vehicles. They desire them. And vehicles sell on design.”
The Velar is also designed to be responsible. It’s not fairly vegan but you can opt for Kvadrat textile seats and trim, a micro-fibre suede made from recycled bottles.

The Velar will be built at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull plant and buyers will get a choice of sports car-rivalling petrol engines or more fuel efficient diesel.
There will be six engine choices from the “clean” 52mpg 2-litre diesel to the 380hp supercharged v6 petrol with hybrids to go after.
The supercharged range-topper will do 0-60mph in Five.Three seconds and hit a top speed of 155mph.
All engines available are tooled with stop/commence technology and brainy regenerative charging, which harvests kinetic energy from violating to charge the battery for maximum economy.

Engineers have also fitted the fresh Range Rover with a sophisticated all-wheel drive system as well as class-leading ground clearance and wading capability.
On top of all this the Velar has air suspension, which lowers 4cm for lighter access.
Inwards, the Velar has two high-definition ten-inch touchscreens for the infotainment system.
It also boasts an InControl remote app, which permits you interact with the car remotely.
The service permits you to lock or unlock the car remotely, adjust climate control settings and set off an audible alert to help you locate your vehicle.

More than 430,000 Land Rovers flipped off the production line in a record-breaking 2016, with sales driven by the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Parent company, Jaguar Land Rover, sold more than 583,000 cars in 2016, topping the half-million mark for the very first time.
They are the thickest UK manufacturer, accounting for thirty per cent of all domestic car production and contributing £10 BILLION to the economy each year.
Production of all Jaguar Land Rover models at the four UK manufacturing plants now directly supports more than 40,000 British jobs with a further 250,000 in the supply chain.
